Players and fans of Alajuelense gathered at the Alejandro Morera Soto Stadium to celebrate the team’s latest championship victory over Saprissa, marking their 31st national title. The celebration began late in the evening, with champagne being opened at 11:25 p.m., as players shared the moment with family members and supporters on the field.
Each player was called to the stage during the festivities. Celso Borges played a role in energizing the crowd, while several players addressed messages to their fans. The highlight of the night came when Óscar Ramírez, known as “Macho,” chose not to speak or sing but instead entertained those present by dancing on stage. He was soon joined by other players who danced along to cumbia music.
Club president Joseph Joseph also addressed those present, stating: “Muchos huevos, gracias” (“A lot of guts, thank you”). An emotional moment occurred when Andrés Ramírez, son of Óscar Ramírez and video analyst for the team, was seen crying after witnessing his father’s achievement from a professional perspective.
The celebrations extended well past midnight both inside and outside the stadium as fans marked Alajuelense’s 31st league title.
