The Ministry of Public Works and Transport announced on April 10 that the asphalt paving of both lanes on the Tárcoles River bridge will take place over a continuous 48-hour period. The project team said that waterproofing work will also be carried out during this time.

The work is scheduled from 6:00 a.m. on Monday, April 13 until 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 15, during which traffic will be regulated to one lane before returning to normal two-lane operation.

According to officials, this intensive effort aims to minimize disruption for road users while meeting technical requirements for materials and curing times needed to ensure the durability of the structure. The ministry has asked drivers using the route to respect temporary signage and follow instructions from flaggers at the site.

Rehabilitation of the Tárcoles River bridge along National Route 34 is currently at 79% completion. The project is part of the Emergency Program for Comprehensive and Resilient Infrastructure Reconstruction (PROERI) and is funded with $6,731,092.03 from the Central American Bank for Economic Integration.

Officials said that completing these works within such a short timeframe reflects coordination efforts designed to reduce inconvenience for travelers while maintaining safety standards.
