The Banco Central de Costa Rica (BCCR) has recently shared several updates and announcements on its official X account. On March 8, 2026, BCCR marked International Women’s Day with a message highlighting its commitment to equity and inclusion. The institution stated: “En el Banco Central de Costa Rica reconocemos el aporte de las mujeres que trabajan cada día por el desarrollo del país.

Hoy conmemoramos el Día Internacional de la Mujer y reafirmamos nuestro compromiso con la equidad y la inclusión.”

Two days later, on March 10, 2026, BCCR announced a new prepaid card for public transportation in the Greater Metropolitan Area (GAM). The post reads: “A partir de abril estará disponible la tarjeta prepago Monedero SINPE‑TP en puntos Tucán del BCR y en BN Servicios. Viaje en bus o tren sin efectivo: se recarga con SINPE Móvil o transferencia y funciona en el transporte público de la GAM.
