The Central Bank of Costa Rica (BCCR) published a series of recommendations and updates regarding digital financial services and interest rates through its official Twitter account in early February 2026.

The tweet highlighted the importance of adjusting transaction limits within the SINPE Móvil system to enhance user control and security when making transfers.

Two days later, on February 11, BCCR emphasized the need for vigilance in monitoring bank transactions. This advice aims to help customers prevent errors and fraud by carefully reviewing their banking activity.

Later that same day, BCCR shared information about current reference interest rates. Consúltelos en: TBP: https://t.co/PlyEc4YSDm TED: https://t.co/GwtIJMaxYc” The announcement provided links for users to access detailed information about these rates.

SINPE Móvil is an electronic payment platform widely used in Costa Rica for real-time fund transfers between individuals and businesses. BCCR regularly publishes updates on key financial indicators such as the Tasa Básica Pasiva (TBP) and the Tasa Efectiva en Dólares (TED), which serve as important benchmarks for lending and deposit products across the country’s banking sector.
