Banco de Costa Rica (BCR) announced on April 6 its operating schedule for the upcoming Holy Week, as well as a preventive adjustment in its central offices. The bank stated that all branches will operate normally on Monday, March 30; Tuesday, March 31; and Wednesday, April 1. Branches across the country will be closed from Thursday, April 2 through Saturday, April 4. Regular service hours are set to resume at all locations starting Monday, April 8.

The announcement is important for customers who may need banking services during the holiday period. BCR emphasized that digital channels remain available at all times so clients can manage their accounts and perform transactions without visiting a branch.

According to BCR, customers can use BCR Directo via its website or mobile app to request loans or certificates of deposit, change cards, make payments and transfers—including SINPE Móvil—and access other services such as account certifications and balance inquiries. The bank also offers step-by-step video tutorials on its YouTube channel to guide users through these processes.

For business clients, the BCR Comercial mobile application provides digital management tools including approvals and transfers related to company accounts. Additionally, Puntos Tucán located in stores throughout Costa Rica allow transactions like public utility payments and loan installments.

BCR also reported it will begin a preventive redistribution of teams working in its central offices due to technical evaluations indicating a need for structural reinforcement of the building. The bank said this measure does not affect customer service or present any risk: “It is important to underline that this measure does not represent a risk and does not affect the provision of services. In fact, it is taken precisely to ensure that everything continues functioning with absolute normality.” Customer assistance lines by phone and WhatsApp will remain available without time restrictions.
