Banco de Costa Rica (BCR) has announced that customers who pay their national vehicle circulation fee, known as “marchamo,” through the bank will be entered into a drawing for two prize packages. Each package includes a 2026 Toyota Rav4, a weekend stay for two at Kunken Boutique Hotel in the Osa Peninsula, and $500 in spending money.

Customers receive one electronic entry for each payment made with BCR. Payments made via the BCR Mobile App or the bank’s website provide double entries, increasing chances of winning. These digital channels are available year-round. In addition to digital payments, marchamo can be paid at Puntos Tucán locations and at any of BCR’s 120 offices nationwide, each equipped with at least one dedicated counter for marchamo payments.

For business clients, payments can also be processed through BCR Comercial, which is exclusively for companies.

Those using BCR credit cards to pay are eligible for immediate rewards: “They participate in the drawing, earn 500 points instantly on their BCR Plus loyalty plan (conditions apply), and may transfer the payment to Plan BCR 0% over three, six or twelve months without interest if done via digital channels.”

Customers paying online or through the app can choose to have documents delivered by Correos de Costa Rica within four days after payment for a fee of ¢2,900 or pick them up at any chosen BCR office from noon on the next business day.

Payment is also possible locally via Puntos Tucán outlets across the country. The list of authorized locations is available on the bank’s website.

Companies managing fleet payments with BCR receive personalized service and lamination for fleets of 25 vehicles or more and get back 1% of their total payment amount.

At all branches, staff can offer three types of instant insurance tailored to customer profiles: Marchamo Life Insurance, Health Insurance, Liability Insurance (RC), or Assistance coverage. Additional options such as Travesía Resguardada, Flexi Asistencias and Roadside Insurance are provided by BCR Seguros as part of its comprehensive service offering.

The promotion runs from November 3 until December 31. Customers may pay marchamo for any license plate number regardless of ownership; however, prizes will be awarded to the registered owner listed on official vehicle documents.

According to Banco de Costa Rica: “Once customers pay their marchamo, an electronic entry is automatically assigned—no further action is required.” The bank also emphasized that it will not request confidential information or access codes from customers regarding entry registration by phone or software installation.

Full terms and conditions are available at www.bancobcr.com.
