The Central Bank of Costa Rica (BCCR) issued a series of advisories and updates on its official Twitter account between April 7 and April 8, 2026. The posts focused on user safety with the SINPE Móvil payment system and the release of its Annual Financial Stability Report for 2025.

On April 7, BCCR reminded users to exercise caution when using mobile payments.

This message highlights the importance of confirming that funds have been properly received before providing goods or services, aiming to prevent potential fraud or mistakes in transactions.

Later that day, BCCR announced the publication of its annual financial report.

On April 8, BCCR issued another advisory related to maintaining updated contact information for SINPE Móvil users. The institution emphasized the need for accurate data to ensure proper functioning of mobile payment services.

SINPE Móvil is a widely used mobile payment platform in Costa Rica operated by the Central Bank. Its popularity has led authorities to regularly issue security recommendations and operational updates for users.
