The Costa Rican Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued several public statements on social media addressing international cooperation, condemnation of violence, and the fight against antisemitism.

This statement refers to the Declaration of Coatepeque signed by Presidents Rodrigo Chaves of Costa Rica and Nayib Bukele of El Salvador. The declaration demonstrates a commitment from both countries to continue efforts against transnational organized crime such as drug trafficking, human trafficking and smuggling, and arms trafficking.

A day later, on December 14, 2025, the Ministry posted: “Costa Rica condena acto terrorista ocurrido en Australia.” In this message, Costa Rica condemned a terrorist act that took place in Australia.

Later that same day, the Ministry reaffirmed its stance against antisemitism by stating: “Costa Rica reafirma compromiso en lucha contra el antisemitismo.”

These statements reflect ongoing diplomatic efforts by Costa Rica to collaborate with regional partners on security issues and to publicly address matters of global concern such as terrorism and discrimination. The Declaration of Coatepeque is part of a broader initiative among Central American nations to address cross-border criminal activity through coordinated policy actions. Additionally, Costa Rica’s condemnation of international terrorism aligns with its longstanding position in support of peace and security worldwide. Its renewed commitment to combating antisemitism comes amid rising concerns about hate crimes globally.
