Costa Rica’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cancillería Costa Rica, published a series of posts on February 14, 2026, highlighting the country’s diplomatic activities and international engagements. The ministry emphasized its ongoing commitment to strengthen economic ties with Saudi Arabia and reported on high-level participation in a major global security conference.

In one post dated February 14, 2026, Cancillería Costa Rica stated: “Costa Rica reiteró su compromiso de fortalecer el comercio y la inversión con Arabia Saudita, su principal socio en la región del Golfo, y expresó su agradecimiento por las oportunidades de colaboración en proyectos de inversión y en mecanismos regionales de cooperación.” The ministry also underscored the stability and continuity of bilateral relations between Costa Rica and Saudi Arabia. In another tweet from the same day, it noted: “Durante la reunión se resaltó la solidez y continuidad de las excelentes relaciones bilaterales, así como el interés común en avanzar hacia la apertura recíproca de embajadas, con el propósito de profundizar los vínculos diplomáticos.”

Additionally, the ministry reported that Foreign Minister Dr. Arnoldo André participated in the Munich Security Conference (@MunSecConf), which is recognized as one of the leading forums for discussions on security and geopolitics. The strengthening of ties with Saudi Arabia reflects Costa Rica’s broader strategy to diversify its international partnerships and enhance cooperation with key players in different regions. Participation in events such as the Munich Security Conference allows Costa Rican officials to engage with global leaders on issues related to security and geopolitical challenges.
