On January 1, 2026, Cancillería Costa Rica posted a message marking Haiti’s Independence Day. The tweet read: ” En el Día de la Independencia de la República de Haití, Costa Rica envía un cordial saludo a su gobierno y a su pueblo, deseando bienestar y prosperidad. #RepublicadeHaití https://t.co/QggLqXYqex”.
Shortly after, on the same day, the Ministry recognized Cuba’s National Day with another post: ” En el Día Nacional de la República de Cuba, Costa Rica envía un cordial saludo a su gobierno y a su pueblo, deseando bienestar y prosperidad. #RepublicadeCuba https://t.co/x3W7DE6AcG”.
Two days later, on January 3, 2026, the Ministry addressed developments in Venezuela by sharing an official statement: “Comunicado del Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores y Culto del Gobierno de Costa Rica sobre la situación en Venezuela. https://t.co/F0xx7ctCfI”.
Costa Rica maintains diplomatic relations with Haiti and Cuba and often issues public greetings or statements during national holidays as part of its foreign policy approach. The country has also regularly commented on political situations in the region through official channels from its Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship.
