The Dirección Nacional de CEN-CINAI announced on March 17 that it activated institutional protocols after receiving a report concerning a minor at the San Juan Sur de Corralillo facility in Cartago.

This action is significant as it demonstrates the institution’s response to allegations involving minors and its stated commitment to child protection.

According to the announcement, the staff member allegedly involved was immediately removed from their position. The relevant complaints were also filed with authorities to ensure both the protection of children and due process. The institution said, “La institución reitera su política de cero tolerancias ante cualquier forma de violencia y reafirma su compromiso con la protección integral de las personas menores de edad.”

CEN-CINAI further stated that it will continue full cooperation with authorities and strengthen supervision measures at the center. Due to the ongoing investigation, no additional details are being provided at this time.

The broader implication of this case highlights ongoing efforts by institutions to maintain strict standards for child safety and respond promptly when concerns arise.
