The ninth episode of Teletica’s dance competition show “Mira quién baila” featured several developments, including special guest performances, the elimination of Daniel Montoya, and the nomination of Katherine Campbell and Ítalo Marenco for possible elimination.
Katherine Campbell, who previously won the Wow award on the show, now faces the risk of leaving the competition. Both Campbell, a physiotherapist, and Marenco, a television presenter, will seek public votes to remain in contention. Votes can be cast through the website votos.teletica.com or via WhatsApp at 6070-0777 using hashtags #TeamÍtalo or #TeamKathy.
During an interview on “Mira quién habla,” which airs after the main program, Erick Vásquez—Campbell’s choreographer—expressed agreement with the judges’ decision to nominate them. “Do you think Katherine was the participant who should have been nominated tonight?” journalist Minerva Rojas asked Vásquez. He replied: “Being completely objective, I think so. We do have to be in that place and we really have to accept it as it is. I’m not saying we did it perfectly, but we have to work harder; we still have another chance next week.”
Vásquez identified technical issues as well as emotional expression as areas needing improvement: “The part about releasing that feeling one can generate when dancing—like exploding and letting out that ‘fua’,” he said.
Campbell acknowledged her coach’s critique and emphasized her commitment to following his guidance. “It’s something extra he is asking from me; he thinks I could give more. He feels like I hold back with everything—the cameras, dancing, controlling my steps, music, camera angles, lights,” she stated.
She also noted that Vásquez maintains high standards and does not tolerate mistakes.
The outcome for both nominees will be determined by public voting at votos.teletica.com or by sending a WhatsApp message with their respective team hashtag.
