CMI Capital and Pradera Chimaltenango recently organized a reforestation event as part of the Sembrando Huella program led by the National Forest Institute (INAB). The initiative brought together over 100 volunteers, including CMI Capital employees, commercial partners from Pradera, strategic allies, and INAB representatives. Together, they planted more than 1,400 pine and cypress trees in the Protected Forest of Chimaltenango.
According to organizers, these tree species were selected for their role in ecosystem restoration, carbon dioxide capture, and protection of water recharge areas. The event is intended to create long-term positive environmental impacts.
“For Pradera, sustainability is a profound transformation in the way we operate: implementing concrete actions that contribute to sustainable development and inspire more people to join in conserving natural resources. Each tree planted reflects this commitment to regenerate the environment and build a greener future for Guatemalan families,” said representatives from Pradera.
CMI Capital emphasized its broader commitment to impactful investments that generate economic, social, and environmental value. “At CMI Capital we are driven by a clear purpose: to promote impact investments that generate economic, social and environmental value. The reforestation of Chimaltenango is another step within our roadmap towards 2030, which includes ambitious goals such as reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 30%, circular waste management and water efficiency in all our projects,” stated CMI Capital.
The activity aligns with CMI Capital’s ongoing sustainability strategy aimed at achieving significant reductions in emissions and improving resource management across its operations.
