As part of the University Program of Instituto Campero, an educational initiative by Corporación Multi Inversiones (CMI) and its Restaurants & Retail Unit, Universidad Galileo and CMI celebrated the graduation of 74 employees from brands such as Pollo Campero, Pollo Granjero, and Pizza La Siciliana. The program is conducted in partnership with the Technical School (ESTEC) at Universidad Galileo and aims to provide access to higher education for operational, administrative, and financial staff.
The Instituto Campero has played a significant role in training thousands of CMI employees over more than three decades. It has facilitated their attainment of high school diplomas, technical certificates, and now university degrees. Since its founding in 1992 as a non-profit institution authorized by the Ministry of Education, more than 1,800 employees have earned high school diplomas through its flexible model. Additionally, 974 have completed specialized diplomas, 250 have graduated from the Technician in Service Administration program, and currently 620 are pursuing university studies in collaboration with Universidad Galileo. Fourteen have already completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.
“This alliance represents the continuity of a history of more than 100 years in which we have put our people at the center of everything we do. Academic training with Universidad Galileo opens new opportunities for personal and professional growth for our collaborators, strengthening their skills and ensuring they can fully develop throughout their career,” said Ricardo Castillo, General Director of Restaurants & Retail at CMI.
He added: “We are inspired to support our collaborators on their path to growth, convinced that each academic achievement also represents progress for them and their families. This knowledge will be reflected in the quality of services and products we offer to our clients and communities, resulting in more efficient processes, superior experiences at our points of sale, and sustainable growth for the company.”
Carlos Arandi-Klee, Director of ESTEC at Universidad Galileo stated: “To confirm Dr. Eduardo Suger’s vision about partnerships with companies for constant staff training, Universidad Galileo develops specialized programs.” He explained that a memorandum of understanding allows alliances with private companies like CMI to provide employees with opportunities for university studies that foster their professional development within the organization.
“This relationship strengthens knowledge and technical skills among staff members while supporting competitiveness and productivity within the company,” he said.
Universidad Galileo has designed institutional degree programs offered virtually using both asynchronous and synchronous classes to suit employees’ work schedules. The university maintains ongoing dialogue with technical, operational, administrative, and financial areas at CMI to ensure that training programs align with industry needs.
From CMI’s perspective, this initiative is consistent with its corporate values—Responsibility, Excellence, Integrity and Respect (REIR).
“By promoting education among our teams we honor our purpose to generate life-changing opportunities with familial warmth. We are convinced that education is one of the most powerful keys for individual growth and social transformation,” noted Paula Massagli, Human Resources Director for Restaurants & Retail.
“In Universidad Galileo we firmly believe that education is a transformative tool that opens doors and creates opportunities. Through partnerships like this one with CMI we reaffirm our commitment to providing quality education to productive sectors—contributing to comprehensive development for individuals as well as national progress,” emphasized Arandi-Klee.
Both organizations expressed interest in expanding academic offerings into strategic areas such as administration, finance, security and information technology—with an aim toward continued innovation and sustainable impact on both business operations and local communities.
Currently CMI is led by Juan José Gutiérrez Mayorga (President Chairman of CMI Alimentos), Felipe Bosch Gutiérrez (President Chairman of CMI Capital), and Juan Luis Bosch Gutiérrez (Chairman of the Board). They reiterated their commitment to creating life-changing opportunities within a family-oriented culture.
