CMI, Corporación Multi Inversiones, announced that 577 employees have graduated from its Technical Training Program this year. The program is delivered through laUcmi, CMI’s corporate university, in partnership with the Instituto Técnico de Capacitación y Productividad (INTECAP). This initiative supports ongoing professional development and aims to strengthen technical skills across the company’s business units.
According to CMI, the training program currently has 949 participants. The recent graduates represent various business areas within CMI Alimentos, including Soluciones Cárnicas, B4B, B4C, and R&R. These efforts are designed to improve operational performance by building technical and practical capabilities among staff.
The curriculum for 2025 included courses in industrial operations and safety such as pilot training, welding, electricity, boiler operation, industrial maintenance, forklift operation, driving, air conditioning and refrigeration systems, and warehouse management. Over the course of the year, participants accumulated a total of 10,585 hours of instruction. Attendance rates reached 95%, while overall satisfaction was reported at 98%.
laUcmi has operated for ten years and is recognized as the first Latin American corporate university certified by The Learning & Performance Institute (LPI) in London. Since its founding a decade ago, it has provided training opportunities to more than 30,000 employees across Central America, the United States, and the Caribbean.
The collaboration between laUcmi and INTECAP enabled adaptation of course content to meet business needs. Practical teaching methods were emphasized to ensure immediate application on the job. Graduates reported that their new skills had an immediate impact on their daily work—from improved driving practices for pilots and drivers to enhanced preventive maintenance routines for technical teams.
Participants faced challenges such as scheduling conflicts and travel logistics when attending sessions at INTECAP locations. However, these obstacles were managed through coordinated planning and support from team leaders.
CMI describes this program as an example of its REIR values: Excellence in learning application; Responsibility in resource management; Integrity in actions; and Respect in teamwork.
“At CMI we reaffirm our commitment to continue promoting programs that strengthen both soft and technical skills among our employees,” stated the company.
Currently led by third-generation family members Juan José Gutiérrez Mayorga (President Chairman of CMI Alimentos) and Felipe Bosch Gutiérrez (President Chairman of CMI Capital), CMI says it remains committed to investing in sustainable development projects that foster entrepreneurship and growth opportunities for its workforce.
