CMI, Corporación Multi Inversiones, participated in the XXVII Central American and Caribbean Poultry Congress held in Panama. The event brought together industry experts and professionals from across the region to discuss topics related to poultry management, nutrition, health, and industry trends.

Representing CMI Alimentos were Maira Serrano, Environmental Management Manager, and Sergio Sevilla, Director of Livestock Operations. Both took active roles during the congress. CMI’s leading brands—Pollo Rey, Pollo Indio, and Aliansa—were showcased at a stand accessible to all attendees.

The congress featured several conferences focused on key areas such as industry management and sustainability. During his presentation titled “Livestock Business Management: The Importance of a Robust, Reliable and User-Friendly System for Data Collection and Interpretation,” Sergio Sevilla highlighted the complexity of managing livestock production due to the large amount of information generated daily. He emphasized the need for an information management system that supports efficient business administration.

Sevilla outlined four main objectives for such a system: data protection and compliance; integrity and scalability to connect with all areas of the company; operational efficiency through process automation; and support for strategic decision-making via reporting and analysis. He referenced examples like the “Hub” (Livestock Operations Center), launched in 2022 to integrate information from various departments towards corporate goals, as well as SAP Fiori applications used within CMI.

“The system is not just about tools; its success also depends on involving all actors at every level and ensuring teams adopt it in practice,” said Sevilla.

Maira Serrano participated in an expert panel discussing finance, market trends, and sustainability within the poultry sector. She highlighted CMI’s corporate purpose: “to generate opportunities that change lives with family warmth,” guiding efforts toward community wellbeing while maintaining core values of Responsibility, Excellence, Integrity, and Respect (REIR).

Serrano explained that CMI has developed a clear strategy enabling sustainable operations with water efficiency measures, energy management improvements, waste handling protocols, product innovation for sustainability solutions. According to Serrano:

– CMI operates nine carbon-neutral plants.
– Over 13,000 trees have been replanted within its operations.
– More than 700,000 tons of waste have been converted into fertilizer.
– Over 500 tons of recyclable material have been processed.

She also noted ongoing collaboration with CMI Capital—a leading renewable energy producer in the region known for pioneering Green Bonds initiatives.

The leadership provided by Felipe Bosch Gutiérrez (Chairman at CMI Capital) and Juan José Gutiérrez Mayorga (Chairman at CMI Alimentos) was acknowledged as instrumental in maintaining focus on generating positive impact through opportunity creation.
