CoopeTarrazú has acquired an automated external defibrillator (AED) to strengthen its response to medical emergencies at its facilities. The device, designed to revive individuals experiencing cardiac arrest, was introduced as part of the cooperative’s preventive and safety initiatives during World Heart Day.

“Many times we have the training and preparation, but not the necessary equipment. This tool will allow our Emergency Brigade to respond quickly in case something happens on our premises,” said Hugo Fallas, Occupational Health Manager at CoopeTarrazú.

The AED will be located in the administrative building in Bajo San Juan, benefiting members, clients, and staff. “Our colleagues are prepared and trained to use the equipment if it is necessary to attend to any eventuality,” Fallas added.

World Heart Day is observed every September 29th to raise awareness about cardiovascular health and prevent diseases that are among the leading causes of death worldwide. As part of this observance, CoopeTarrazú organized informational talks and practical demonstrations for employees to promote healthy habits and reinforce a culture of prevention.
