The Costa Rican Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cancillería Costa Rica, reported on February 17, 2026, a series of diplomatic engagements in Slovenia. According to the ministry’s official Twitter account, Dr. Arnoldo André, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Ambassador Olga Marta Sauma held meetings focused on artificial intelligence and economic cooperation.

In a tweet posted at 15:37 UTC on February 17, the ministry stated: ” El canciller Dr. Arnoldo André y la embajadora Olaga Sauma sostuvieron una productiva reunión con autoridades del Centro Internacional de Investigación sobre Inteligencia Artificial en Ljubljana, Eslovenia, centro auspiciado por la UNESCO https://t.co/uRnwqGtg6s”.

A follow-up message published at 15:38 UTC provided additional details about the discussions: “Conversaron sobre la cooperación en inteligencia artificial con un enfoque ético, inclusivo y centrado en las personas y sobre innovación para el desarrollo sostenible”.

Later that day at 17:33 UTC, the ministry shared another update regarding their visit to SPIRIT Slovenia: “El canciller Dr. Arnoldo André y la embajadora Olga Marta Sauma visitaron SPIRIT Eslovenia, agencia de promoción de exportaciones e inversiones. https://t.co/xIbg5hz9S9”.

The International Research Center on Artificial Intelligence (IRCAI) in Ljubljana is supported by UNESCO and serves as a platform for international collaboration in AI research with an emphasis on ethical standards and sustainable development. SPIRIT Slovenia is a government agency dedicated to promoting exports and attracting foreign investment to Slovenia.
