The Costa Rican Ministry of Health has used its official Twitter account to promote community health initiatives and wellness campaigns in late September 2025.
On September 23, the Ministry invited the public to an event aimed at fostering self-care and community well-being. In a tweet, it stated: “Les invitamos al evento titulado ‘Espacio de autocuidado y reconocimiento de promoción de bienestar comunitario 2025’. Jueves 25 de setiembre, 2:00 p.m https://t.co/mN1k8fzXqp”.
Later that same day, the Ministry highlighted efforts to prevent mosquito-borne diseases in Corredores by encouraging residents to dispose of unused tires.
On September 24, the Ministry continued its health promotion messages with a reminder about healthy habits during Wellness Week: “La actividad fÃsica y la alimentación saludable son importante para tener una vida saludable y llena de bienestar. #SemanaDelBienestar https://t.co/rueuvyzL2o”.
These initiatives reflect ongoing public health strategies in Costa Rica focused on disease prevention and promoting healthy lifestyles. The collection of unused tires is part of broader efforts across Latin America to reduce breeding grounds for mosquitoes that transmit diseases such as dengue fever. Public education campaigns emphasizing physical activity and nutrition are also common components of national wellness weeks organized by health authorities throughout the region.
