The Costa Rican coach Marvin Solano has led Luis Ángel Firpo to a national championship in El Salvador, ending a 12-year title drought for the team. The final against Alianza ended in a goalless draw, with Firpo securing victory 5-4 on penalties.
Speaking to TigoSports El Salvador after the match, Solano said: “This group deserved this because we had dedicated players. We deserved the victory. This squad was determined to break any myth, and we did it with joy.”
Solano also commented on facing one of El Salvador’s most prominent teams: “I didn’t lose against Alianza, I am happy,” he stated.
