The Directorate General of Road Education (DGEV) has announced that the practical driving test centers in Puntarenas, Liberia, and San José (Ciudad Vial) will extend their operating hours next week. The centers will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, November 24; Tuesday, November 25; and Wednesday, November 26. This schedule adds three extra hours each day for testing.

The extended hours aim to provide more opportunities for individuals who are unable to attend during regular times due to work or study commitments. All types of driver’s license practical tests will be available at these locations during the expanded schedule.

Applicants can now book their slots through the Driver Accreditation System (SAC). To register, individuals must have their system credentials (username and password), pay the test fee of ¢5,000 at authorized financial institutions, and access https://servicios.educacionvial.go.cr/Formularios/MatriculaPruebaPractica.

The DGEV advises applicants to complete all licensing procedures through official channels. “We remind users that we never provide services outside our offices nor request payments to private numbers or accounts,” stated the DGEV.
