People interested in taking the practical driving test will have the chance to do so during extended hours throughout October, according to officials from the Dirección General de Educación Vial (DGEV).

Nearly 10,959 slots are available in the system and are distributed across the 13 Education Vial offices throughout the country.

“We have managed to enable practical driving tests from October 6 to 31 with extended hours, so this type of exam will be offered at all locations from Monday to Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., which represents three more hours of service per day,” said Sindy Coto, Director of Educación Vial.

Coto stressed that people who need their license should take advantage of this opportunity in October, especially those who cannot attend during regular hours due to work or study commitments.

Those wishing to register must have their system login credentials (username and password), pay for the test (₡5,000 at authorized financial institutions), and sign up through https://servicios.educacionvial.go.cr/Formularios/MatriculaPruebaPractica

Officials also reminded applicants that services are only provided inside official offices and that no payments should be made to private numbers or accounts for licensing services.
