Florinda Meza, widow of Roberto Gómez Bolaños, offered advice on April 25 to singer Ángela Aguilar about maintaining a long-lasting marriage with Christian Nodal. Meza spoke openly about her own experiences and addressed criticism both she and Aguilar have faced regarding their relationships.

Meza said her comments were intended to help Aguilar navigate public scrutiny and build a strong partnership. She noted that she was often compared to Aguilar due to similarities in their personal lives and the controversies surrounding their relationships.

Meza shared that during her 37-year relationship with Bolaños, the main challenges they faced were related to his health issues rather than personal disputes. “It is painful to see how your partner is consumed,” Meza said, reflecting on Bolaños’s illness before his death in 2014.

Offering practical advice passed down from her grandmother, Meza told Aguilar: “Never stay angry with your husband for more than half an hour,” and added: “Never go to bed angry with your husband.” She emphasized that these habits helped keep her own marriage strong over the years.

Meza also said she was not aware of criticism or negative comments directed at her online but affirmed that she would continue defending women as she always has. “Life is a bit difficult being a woman,” Meza said.

The renewed attention comes as Ángela Aguilar and Christian Nodal recently appeared together on social media looking happy amid rumors of crisis or separation.
