The 83rd Golden Globe Awards ceremony took place on January 11, 2026, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles. The event marked the official start of the awards season ahead of the Oscars and Emmys. Comedian Nikki Glaser returned as host, delivering her trademark humor during the opening monologue.
The series “Adolescencia” and the film “Una batalla tras otra” were among the most recognized productions of the night, each receiving four awards. “Hamnet” was awarded Best Drama Film.
Teyana Taylor received the award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in “Una batalla tras otra.” In her acceptance speech, she said: “I almost didn’t write a speech because I thought I wouldn’t win… to my sisters of color and girls: our voices matter and our dreams deserve space.”
Paul Thomas Anderson won Best Director for “Una batalla tras otra.” Upon receiving his award, he stated: “Thank you for giving so much love to this movie, I love doing what I do, this is very fun.” The film also secured awards for Best Supporting Actress, Best Screenplay, Best Director, and Best Musical or Comedy Film.
“Adolescencia” won in several television categories including Best Actor in a Television Drama Series (Owen Cooper), Best Actor in a Miniseries or Anthology Series or TV Movie (Stephen Graham), Best Supporting Actress in a TV Series (Erin Doherty), and Best Miniseries or Anthology Series or TV Movie.
“Hamnet,” considered a surprise winner for Best Drama Film, featured an emotional message from Chloé Zhao who said: “I just want to say that the people who made this film, many have lost loved ones; we love them and miss them. Paul (the director) told me that making Hamnet taught him that the most important thing about being an artist is being vulnerable enough to be seen as we truly are.”
Snoop Dogg presented the new category of Best Podcast. Amy Poehler’s “Good Hang” was named its first winner.
Other notable winners included “KPop Demon Hunters,” which earned both Best Original Song (“Golden”) and Best Animated Feature. The medical drama series “The Pitt” received awards for Best Drama Series and Best Actor (Noah Wyle). Jessie Buckley won Best Actress in a Drama Film for her performance in “Hamnet.”
