Grupo Promerica strengthened its position in corporate governance and risk management at the XXIX Latin American Congress of Internal Audit and Risk Assessment (CLAIN) 2025, held this week in San José, Costa Rica. The event was organized by the Federación Latinoamericana de Bancos (FELABAN) and the Asociación Bancaria Costarricense (ABC), bringing together over 400 specialists from across the region to discuss key challenges facing the financial sector.

As a main sponsor of the congress, Grupo Promerica reaffirmed its commitment to high standards of control, transparency, and corporate ethics. Key executives from the group participated in academic sessions focused on digital transformation, continuous auditing, new technologies for risk mitigation, and sustainable corporate governance models.

A significant development during the event was the appointment of Anyel Rodríguez Rojas, Internal Auditor at Banco Promerica Costa Rica, as president of FELABAN’s CLAIN Committee. Rodríguez has more than two decades of experience at Banco Promerica Costa Rica and will lead the regional technical agenda for internal audit and risk assessment in Latin America for the next two years.

Rodríguez also addressed participants about strengthening governance systems to face complex global environments shaped by technological disruption, climate change, and geopolitical risks. He emphasized that modern auditing should move beyond a purely supervisory role to become a strategic business partner.

Henry Bolaños, Regional Vice President of Audit at Grupo Promerica, took part in a high-level panel on new models for control and integrated risk management.

Leaders from various units within Grupo Promerica also shared experiences related to corporate governance practices, digital transformation with regulatory compliance focus, and innovative tools for continuous auditing using artificial intelligence.

The CLAIN 2025 Congress continues to serve as an important platform for promoting best practices in banking across Latin America.
