Mary Munive Angermüller, the Minister of Health, will be traveling from April 8 to April 10 to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, to participate in a series of regional meetings. The announcement was made on April 9.

The meetings are part of an intersectoral initiative involving the Council of Health Ministers of Central America and the Dominican Republic (COMISCA), the Central American Agricultural Council (CAC), and the Central American Commission for Environment and Development (CCAD). An extraordinary session of COMISCA is also scheduled during this period.

According to the Ministry of Health, these discussions aim to advance cooperation among health, agriculture, and environmental sectors. Topics include zoonotic diseases and the “One Health” approach, which emphasizes collaboration across different fields for improved public health outcomes.

While Munive Angermüller is abroad attending these events, Allan Mora Vargas will serve as acting minister.

These regional gatherings are intended to strengthen partnerships among participating countries and address shared challenges in public health. Future developments from these meetings may influence collaborative efforts throughout Central America and the Dominican Republic.
