Nearly 600 students from seventh, eighth, and ninth grades participated in the “I Lead Tour,” an event aimed at strengthening leadership, decision-making, teamwork, and respect. The event is part of the “Yo Lidero” initiative developed by Fundación Mejoremos Costa Rica in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Education’s (MEP) Guía Program.

The “I Lead Tour” was held from November 12 to 17, 2025, at Liceo de Pavas de San José Oeste, Colegio Técnico Profesional Jesús Ocaña Flores in Alajuela, and Liceo de San Antonio de Desamparados. The activities were designed to encourage reflection and collaboration among students while addressing key themes for their personal and academic development.

According to organizers, the program helps young people between ages 13 and 17 discover leadership as a life skill and prepares them for social, economic, and labor challenges. Students attended alongside their guiding teachers.

Students can also access additional resources on youth leadership skills through Level Up’s social media platforms:

Organizers stated that these resources are intended to strengthen life skills and youth leadership.

“I Lead Tour” is part of broader efforts by MEP to promote interactive educational experiences that foster personal growth among secondary school students.
