Kattia Cambronero, an independent legislator and former member of the Partido Liberal Progresista (PLP), attended a campaign event for Ariel Robles, the presidential candidate of Frente Amplio, in Santa Ana on Tuesday.

Cambronero clarified that her presence at the event does not mean she is formally joining Robles’ campaign or supporting Frente Amplio as a party. She stated to La Nación: “I only participated. I accompany Ariel (Robles), not Frente Amplio. It’s a matter of him being my companion in many struggles and, of course, I came to Santa Ana because it was an activity he was organizing.”

The legislator further explained that her support is directed toward Robles as an individual and the values he represents. She is still considering whether to formally endorse any campaign in the future. “I will be with people who fight like Ariel for freedom, for respect for democracy. I know him very well; we have worked together for almost four years, and he is a very intelligent person who deserves a lot of respect. He is conducting a high-level campaign,” Cambronero added.

She emphasized that her participation was motivated by professional closeness with Robles rather than partisan support.

Cambronero was elected as a deputy with the Partido Liberal Progresista but later resigned from the group to become independent.
