Guatemala recently hosted the first edition of Reputation Day – Central America and Caribbean Special, an international conference focused on corporate leadership and the management of intangible assets. The event was organized by Corporate Excellence – Centre for Reputation Leadership, CMI, Corporación Multi Inversiones (CMI), and the international consulting firm PIZZOLANTE. It brought together leaders and experts to discuss topics such as reputation, sustainability, and strategic communication.

The conference addressed challenges in a global environment shaped by artificial intelligence, geopolitical risks, and crises of trust. Participants explored how companies can manage intangible assets, strengthen their reputations, reduce reputational risks, communicate with purpose, and prepare for new business challenges.

The agenda included presentations, expert panels, and networking opportunities where attendees shared real-world examples of business transformation and strategies for managing reputational risk. Discussions also focused on connecting with stakeholders through consistency, purpose, and trust.

During the event, Corporate Excellence – Centre for Reputation Leadership launched the tenth edition of Approaching the Future 2025. This report identifies key trends in reputation management and intangible assets that are considered strategically important by organizations in Ibero-America.

Ángel Alloza, CEO of Corporate Excellence – Centre for Reputation Leadership said: “Holding this event in Guatemala represents a key step in our mission to extend knowledge and training to help professionalize the management of intangibles in Ibero-America. It is a unique opportunity to strengthen alliances, share knowledge and support companies on their path towards reputational leadership and corporate excellence.”

José González-Campo, Senior Director of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability at CMI stated: “At CMI we are convinced that our reputation is the natural consequence of living every day and in every action our Purpose: to generate life-changing opportunities with family warmth. As a family business, we know that living our purpose, culture and values is the basis for continuing to build our founder’s legacy, generating a positive impact on our stakeholders and the communities where we operate. Sustainability, responsible communication and ethical commitment are fundamental pillars for creating lasting value. This meeting—and spaces for dialogue like this—reaffirm that for organizations how things are done is as important as what is done: that responsible and intentional management of intangibles is key to building trust; and that these aspects should be considered strategic priorities by management.”

Ítalo Pizzolante, Founding Partner of PIZZOLANTE and ambassador of Corporate Excellence for Central America and the Caribbean commented: “Reputation Day Guatemala reaffirms our conviction that reputation is not an end in itself but a result of doing things well—with purpose and coherence. Through our Traveling Chair we support these spaces for exchanging knowledge, experiences and best practices that encourage business leadership capable of building trust and generating sustainable value for society.”

The first edition of Reputation Day Guatemala marked an important moment in strengthening regional conversations about corporate leadership. It positioned Guatemala as a key location for exchanging ideas about practices shaping the future direction of businesses.
