Isaac Badilla, a 17-year-old player for Alajuelense, scored the decisive goal in the final minute to secure a 1-0 win against San Carlos during the fourth round of the Clausura 2026 tournament. This was Badilla’s first goal for Alajuelense’s senior team. He managed to beat defender Geancarlo Agüero and sent a low shot past San Carlos goalkeeper Mario González in the 90th minute.
The result gave Alajuelense its first victory in the current Clausura season, following their championship win in the previous tournament.
With this late goal by Badilla, Alajuelense broke their winless streak at the start of the Clausura 2026.
