Jorge Martínez announced on April 9 that he will soon return to hosting a basketball-focused program at Teletica, reactivating the podcast Basket+ alongside colleague Eduardo Castillo. The show will be available through the paid platform TDMax and its content will also circulate on TD Más social media channels.
The announcement is significant for fans of Martínez, who have requested his return to basketball commentary after several years away from this area. Martínez is currently known for his work as director of Teletica Deportes and as a central figure in football broadcasts on FUTV, but he has a longstanding connection with basketball both as a former player and commentator.
Martínez’s history with basketball spans decades; he played the sport when younger and began his media career narrating NBA games on Canal 2. The Basket+ podcast originally launched in 2020 and last aired in September 2022. According to the release, it has been well received by NBA enthusiasts in Costa Rica.
The relaunch of Basket+ aims to cover various aspects of the NBA for audiences across generations.
