The Chilean band Kudai is set to return to Costa Rica as part of their ‘Revive Tour’. The group, known for addressing difficult topics in their music, will perform at the Centro de Eventos La Uruca on Friday, November 21. This follows two sold-out concerts at Pepper’s Club in 2024.

Singer Gabriela Villalba recalled the band’s previous experience in Costa Rica: “It was crazy. There were two dates and it was packed.” She described how fans lined up outside the venue with distinctive clothing and hairstyles. “Everyone with their very emo look. People connected with us and we with them. It was wonderful,” Villalba said from Australia during a virtual interview.

This year’s concert will feature Bárbara Sepúlveda, Pablo Homan, Tomás Manzi, and Gabriela Villalba. Nicole Natalino will not be present due to recently becoming a mother, but her presence will be felt in the performance and repertoire. Kudai plans to release a new song performed by all five original members soon.

Villalba emphasized that the upcoming show will differ from last year’s performances: “We are going to sing from the first song to the last at full volume. We are going to have things that weren’t in the previous concert; it’s not the same.”

Kudai has built its reputation on songs that address issues such as eating disorders, divorce, family violence, mental health, leadership, and environmental care. Villalba noted: “Music is like a time machine. When you listen to a song you liked when you were young and close your eyes, you can feel that age again.” She added that many of their stories came from personal or close experiences within the band.

The band is working on modernizing their sound while keeping their thematic focus unchanged. Their recent singles “Karma” and “Harakiri” reflect this direction ahead of an album expected in 2026.

Tickets for Kudai’s concert are available through eventcr.com. Prices range from $35 for general admission (phase 1) to $70 for super fan tickets (phase 2).

Gabriela Villalba described performing in Costa Rica as special: “For me going to sing in Costa Rica is a privilege because they’re all lovely; it’s an incredible country. It’s the country with the kindest people—you win, you’re wonderful.”

Kudai aims to reconnect with fans old and new by offering a show that blends nostalgia with contemporary elements.
