La Nación, a prominent Costa Rican newspaper, posted a series of tweets on September 14, 2025, addressing topics ranging from borders and wildlife trafficking to victims’ rights.

In its first tweet at 14:02 UTC, La Nación stated: “Las fronteras deberían ser dos labios que se besan, no una herida que nos divide”.

Shortly after, at 14:09 UTC, the publication highlighted concerns about wildlife trafficking with the message: “Este es el catálogo de especies silvestres que se trafican ilegalmente desde y hacia Costa Rica”.

Later that afternoon, at 14:14 UTC, La Nación addressed the issue of victims’ rights by posting: “Doña Laura: las víctimas sí tienen derechos (y muchos)”.

La Nación is recognized for its coverage of national and regional issues in Costa Rica. The country’s geographic position makes it both a transit and source point for wildlife trafficking between South and North America. Additionally, discussions about victims’ rights have gained prominence in recent years within Costa Rican society and legal frameworks.
