La Nación, a prominent Costa Rican newspaper, posted updates on its Twitter account on January 8, 2026, regarding the upcoming presidential debates and candidates, as well as insights into the incarceration conditions of Nicolás Maduro and his wife.

In its first tweet on January 8, La Nación announced: “Debates presidenciales 2026: fechas y detalles para seguir las propuestas de los candidatos https://t.co/od2pHFhsHL”.

Shortly after, La Nación provided further information for voters with another post: “Conozca a fondo a los 20 candidatos a la Presidencia: una guía interactiva de La Nación https://t.co/zqO27YkATo” (January 8, 2026).

Later that day, the newspaper shared an international news update: “Un consultor de prisiones federales de Estados Unidos reveló cómo lucen las celdas donde permanecen Nicolás Maduro y esposa, Cilia Flores https://t.co/UClFrpRpEG” (January 8, 2026).

La Nación is one of Costa Rica’s leading newspapers and has a long history of covering national elections and significant international events.
