La Nación, a major Costa Rican newspaper, posted several updates on September 3, 2025, highlighting international and national cultural and sports achievements.

In one post from that day, La Nación reported on a documentary showcased at the Venice Film Festival: “Cinta sobre asesinato de niña palestina recibe récord de 23 minutos de aplauso en Venecia” (September 3, 2025). The film about the killing of a Palestinian girl received a record-setting 23-minute standing ovation in Venice.

The same day, La Nación also focused on Costa Rican athletes Gerald Drummond and Daniela Rojas. In two separate posts—“Gerald Drummond y Daniela Rojas: Su esfuerzo e inquebrantable pasión los tiene en el Mundial de Atletismo” (September 3, 2025) and “Gerald Drummond y Daniela Rojas: Su esfuerzo e inquebrantable pasión los tiene en el Mundial de Atletismo” (September 3, 2025)—the newspaper recognized their dedication and perseverance as key factors for their participation in the World Athletics Championships.

The Venice Film Festival is known for its enthusiastic audience responses and has seen several films receive extended ovations in recent years. Gerald Drummond and Daniela Rojas are prominent Costa Rican athletes who have represented their country at various international competitions, including the World Athletics Championships.
