La Nación, a major Costa Rican newspaper, reported on March 20, 2026, that Liga Deportiva Alajuelense has not issued any public statements regarding an ongoing discipline scandal involving the team. The publication posted on its social media account: ” Alajuelense guarda silencio ante el escándalo de indisciplina https://t.co/UOHxyeLWFt” (March 20, 2026). A similar message was shared later the same day: ” Alajuelense guarda silencio ante el escándalo de indisciplina https://t.co/6V5eB1abpZ” (March 20, 2026).

In a subsequent post, La Nación raised questions about the possible exclusion of player Alejandro Bran from an upcoming match between Herediano and Alajuelense. The tweet stated: ” ¿Alejandro Bran quedará fuera del partido entre Herediano y Alajuelense? Esto dicen en la Liga https://t.co/bewmEnXCgu” (March 20, 2026).
