Later that morning, the newspaper reported another tragic incident involving an elderly man. In addition to these incidents, La Nación highlighted the ongoing National Games. In its third post on January 20, it stated: “Los Juegos Nacionales reúnen a los mejores deportistas del país, incluso aquellos que han destacado fuera de nuestras fronteras”. The National Games are an annual event in Costa Rica that bring together top athletes from across the country and often feature participants who have excelled internationally.
Cartago is one of Costa Rica’s seven provinces and frequently features in national news due to its population centers and local events. The National Games serve as an important platform for young athletes aspiring to represent Costa Rica at international competitions.
