La Nación, a major Costa Rican news outlet, reported on several local developments in a series of posts published on January 14, 2026.

In one post, La Nación shared that an activist who was denounced by the director of the Dirección de Inteligencia y Seguridad (DIS) held the government responsible should anything happen to her or a family member. The original statement reads: “Activista denunciada por director de la DIS responsabilizó al gobierno en caso de que algo le suceda a ella a un miembro de su familia.” (January 14, 2026).

Another update from La Nación focused on sports, announcing: “Saprissa elige a su arquero para defender el marco contra Puntarenas” (January 14, 2026). This indicates that Deportivo Saprissa has selected its goalkeeper for an upcoming match against Puntarenas.

A third post addressed legal education policy changes. La Nación wrote: “Colegio de Abogados elimina porcentaje que se otorgaba por llevar curso y anuncia fecha para examen de admisión 2026” (January 14, 2026). The Colegio de Abogados is the professional association overseeing lawyers in Costa Rica and periodically updates its policies regarding admissions and coursework.

The DIS is Costa Rica’s national intelligence agency. Deportivo Saprissa is one of Costa Rica’s most prominent football clubs. The Colegio de Abogados plays an essential role in regulating the legal profession in the country.
