The posts included reports about a Costa Rican soccer player’s expulsion in Guatemala and developments regarding the death of Mexican cartel leader Nemesio Oseguera, known as ‘El Mencho’.

In one tweet dated February 22, 2026, La Nación reported: ” Jugador costarricense es expulsado en Guatemala por violenta acción contra juntabolas (video) https://t.co/pxM6bpUiLe”. In another post on the same day, the outlet stated: ” Estados Unidos aplaude muerte de ‘El Mencho’ en operativo en México https://t.co/tBPIi6ZCJm”.

A third tweet provided background information on the cartel leader: ” ¿Quién era ‘El Mencho’? Nemesio Oseguera, el capo del narco que desafió como pocos al Estado mexicano https://t.co/MpBgU1ou2D”.

Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes was considered one of Mexico’s most powerful drug lords and led the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), which has been responsible for violent confrontations with authorities and rival organizations. U.S. authorities had long pursued Oseguera due to his role in international drug trafficking operations.
