A judge is set to decide the legal fate of Alajuelense goalkeeper Bayron Mora following a traffic accident, according to La Nación. The newspaper also highlighted strong criticism directed at Costa Rica’s national football team by Carlos Álvarez of Teletica during a live broadcast.

On March 28, 2026, La Nación reported: ” Un juez decidirá el futuro del portero de Alajuelense Bayron Mora por accidente de tránsito https://t.co/aaqOlrx08z”.

In another post on the same day, La Nación drew attention to comments made by Carlos Álvarez: ” Nadie lo esperaba: Escuche a Carlos Álvarez de Teletica ‘destrozar’ a la Selección de Costa Rica en vivo https://t.co/8eWY3xtZqZ”. A similar message was shared minutes later: ” Nadie lo esperaba: Escuche a Carlos Álvarez de Teletica ‘destrozar’ a la Selección de Costa Rica en vivo https://t.co/rPZeT2KWnp”.

Bayron Mora is the goalkeeper for Liga Deportiva Alajuelense, one of Costa Rica’s most prominent football clubs. The legal proceedings referenced follow an incident involving a traffic accident in which he was reportedly involved. Public scrutiny and judicial decisions regarding athletes are not uncommon in Costa Rican sports news.

Carlos Álvarez is known as a commentator for Teletica, one of Costa Rica’s leading television networks. His critical remarks about the national team come at a time when public interest and debate over the team’s performance remain high.
