La Nación reported on October 2, 2025, a series of updates on significant national events in Costa Rica. The newspaper, a major media outlet in the country, published news regarding a criminal investigation and political developments.

In its first post, La Nación announced, “Asesinato de Kevin Kirby: Fuerza Pública anuncia detención de sospechoso tras informe del OIJ” (October 2, 2025). Later, La Nación addressed an incident involving Laura Fernández, a presidential candidate from the Pueblo Soberano party. The outlet posted, “Laura Fernández, candidata presidencial de Pueblo Soberano, reconoció que la información de la misa de acción de gracias en la basílica de los Ańgeles, se filtró desde su comando de campaña.” (October 2, 2025). This message revealed that Fernández admitted information about a thanksgiving mass at the Basílica de los Ángeles had been leaked from her campaign headquarters.

In a subsequent post, La Nación quoted Fernández clarifying the nature of the event: “Laura Fernández sobre actividad en la basílica: ‘Era una misa privada mía’” (October 2, 2025).
