A traffic accident in Pocosol and a toxic substance incident in Heredia were among the events reported by La Nación on November 16, 2025. The newspaper published updates on these incidents and also highlighted support given by Katherine Campbell to a contestant on a television show.
In a post at 18:35 UTC, La Nación reported, “Un accidente de tránsito en Pocosol dejó un vehículo partido a la mitad, una persona fallecida y cuatro heridas.” The tweet described the severity of the crash, which resulted in one fatality and four injuries.
Later that day at 18:41 UTC, La Nación addressed an incident involving a hazardous chemical: “Qué es el fosfuro de aluminio, la sustancia tóxica que habría causado muerte de mujer en hotel de Heredia”. This post referred to aluminum phosphide, a highly toxic compound sometimes used as a pesticide. Exposure can lead to severe poisoning or death if not handled with proper safety measures.
At nearly the same time, another update was shared about a public figure offering support: “Katherine Campbell dio gran ayuda a concursante de ‘Mira quién baila’ que vivió duro momento”. The tweet noted that Campbell assisted a contestant who experienced significant difficulties during their participation in the dance competition program “Mira quién baila.”
La Nación is one of Costa Rica’s major newspapers and frequently covers national news events including accidents, public health issues related to toxic substances, and entertainment stories.
