In economic news, La Nación reported progress for the United States in trade balance: “Estados Unidos logró reducir su déficit comercial por debajo de los $30.000 millones por primera vez desde 2009, en un contexto de mayores exportaciones y menores compras externas.” (January 9, 2026). The reduction of the trade deficit was attributed to increased exports and decreased imports.
