La Nación, a major Costa Rican newspaper, published several updates on November 16, 2025, regarding two unrelated news stories: the progress of a South American country’s national football team and the discovery of a deceased woman in Heredia.

On November 16, La Nación posted: “¿Cuál es el pequeño país sudamericano que está a las puertas de clasificar a su primer Mundial por Concacaf?” This tweet highlights the possibility that a small South American nation is close to qualifying for its first FIFA World Cup through the CONCACAF confederation.

Later the same day, at 01:39 UTC, La Nación reported: “Una mujer adulta, cuya identidad aún se desconoce, fue hallada muerta, la tarde de este sábado 15 de noviembre, en un hotel en Heredia, según confirmó la Cruz Roja.” The report states that an unidentified adult woman was found dead in a hotel in Heredia on Saturday afternoon. According to the tweet, confirmation came from the Costa Rican Red Cross.

Shortly after this update, La Nación added another post at 01:46 UTC: “Mujer aparece sin vida en hotel en Heredia”. This message reiterates that a woman was found dead in a hotel in Heredia.

Heredia is one of Costa Rica’s provinces and is located near the capital city of San José. The Costa Rican Red Cross often assists with emergency medical services and public safety incidents throughout the country.
