La Nación, a prominent Costa Rican news outlet, published a series of updates on January 19, 2026, covering developments in the country’s presidential race and campaign issues.

In one post dated January 19, La Nación reported: “La Presidencia instó al candidato José Aguilar Berrocal a presentar pruebas sobre amenazas de gobierno a colaboradores o financistas de campaña.” This statement refers to calls from the executive branch for candidate José Aguilar Berrocal to provide evidence supporting claims that government threats were made against his campaign staff or financiers.

Shortly after, at 19:37 UTC, La Nación announced a new digital tool for voters: “La Nación lanzó herramienta para comparar propuestas de candidatos a la Presidencia 2026”. The tool aims to help citizens compare policy proposals from all candidates in the upcoming 2026 presidential election.

Later the same day, another update highlighted promises made by an Agenda Ciudadana party candidate: “Candidata de Agenda Ciudadana promete crear además seguro especial para estos conductores y compensar a los taxistas”. According to this message, the candidate pledged both special insurance for certain drivers and compensation measures for taxi drivers.
