La Nación, a major Spanish-language news outlet, reported on several significant incidents on September 13, 2025, via its official Twitter account.

The first report concerned heightened military activity near the Ukrainian border. La Nación stated on September 13: “Polonia y la OTAN movilizan aviones militares por presencia de drones rusos en frontera con Ucrania”.

Later the same day, La Nación reported an incident in Spain’s capital city: “Explosión en bar del centro de Madrid deja 25 heridos”.

In a separate update relevant to Costa Rican infrastructure and transportation, La Nación also posted: “MOPT actualiza estado de la ruta 32; la ruta alterna por Vara Blanca colapsó por presas el viernes”.

These updates reflect ongoing security concerns in Eastern Europe amid the continued Russia-Ukraine conflict, as well as public safety and infrastructure challenges in Spain and Costa Rica. The situation involving Russian drones at the Polish-Ukrainian border has led to increased vigilance by NATO forces. Meanwhile, the explosion in Madrid adds to a series of recent public safety incidents in European cities. In Costa Rica, transportation disruptions have persisted due to heavy traffic congestion affecting alternate routes after issues with Route 32.
