La Nación, a major Costa Rican news outlet, published several updates on February 18, 2026, covering developments in local media, law enforcement activity, and political meetings.

In its first post of the evening, La Nación reported changes at a leading Costa Rican television company: “Teletica confirma el inesperado rumbo de Ferlin Fuentes, Diego Obando y Kevin Jiménez en la empresa https://t.co/MNpPd8KKv9” (February 18, 2026). The tweet announced unexpected career moves for three Teletica employees: Ferlin Fuentes, Diego Obando, and Kevin Jiménez.

Shortly after, the outlet posted about a police operation involving counterfeit sports merchandise. According to La Nación’s report: ” Detienen a sospechoso de vender camisas falsas de Alajuelense y Saprissa https://t.co/ySrPIOKj8t” (February 18, 2026). The tweet stated that an individual suspected of selling fake jerseys from two prominent Costa Rican football clubs—Alajuelense and Saprissa—had been detained.

Later that evening, La Nación highlighted an upcoming international political meeting. The outlet wrote: ” Rodrigo Chaves y Laura Fernández se reunirán con Donald Trump en Florida https://t.co/0OodnfWVrp” (February 18, 2026). This tweet announced that Rodrigo Chaves and Laura Fernández would meet with former U.S. President Donald Trump in Florida.

Teletica is one of Costa Rica’s main television broadcasters and has played a significant role in the country’s media landscape for decades. Alajuelense and Saprissa are among the most popular football clubs in Costa Rica; counterfeit sports merchandise has been an ongoing issue affecting both clubs’ branding efforts. Rodrigo Chaves serves as the President of Costa Rica since May 2022. Meetings between Latin American leaders and former U.S. officials have drawn public attention due to their potential impact on diplomatic relations.
