La Nación, a major Costa Rican news outlet, published several updates on its Twitter account regarding the results of the Junta de Protección Social (JPS) lottery draw held on Tuesday, May 5.
In its first post on May 6, 2026, La Nación shared information about the winning numbers from the latest JPS lottery: ” Chances de la JPS: vea los números ganadores del sorteo de este martes 5 de mayo https://t.co/dWweo6lhW2″.
Shortly after, La Nación announced that the accumulated prize had been won. In a tweet posted at 02:11 UTC, it stated: ” ¡Salió el acumulado de la JPS!: este es el número y serie que reparte ¢1.617 millones https://t.co/ETu6vagYTX”.
A minute later, another tweet repeated this announcement and included a link for further details: ” ¡Salió el acumulado de la JPS!: este es el número y serie que reparte ¢1.617 millones https://t.co/N965GGpkiA”.
The Junta de Protección Social is responsible for organizing official lotteries in Costa Rica and allocating proceeds to social welfare programs across the country.
