La Nación, a prominent Costa Rican news outlet, posted updates on March 13 and 14, 2026, covering potential fuel price increases, a late football transfer in Cartaginés, and an incident at Lito Pérez stadium.

On March 13, La Nación reported that fuel prices in Costa Rica may rise. According to the tweet: ” Subirían precios de diésel, gasolina y gas en Costa Rica: propuesta de Recope elevaría costo por litro hasta en ¢35 https://t.co/OvvcvMT63O” (posted on March 13, 2026). The proposal from RECOPE would increase the cost per liter by up to ¢35.

Later that evening, La Nación highlighted a development in Costa Rican football. The tweet stated: ” Amarini Villatoro anuncia un fichaje internacional de última hora en Cartaginés para este torneo https://t.co/FbsAIY6icu” (posted on March 14, 2026).

Shortly after midnight on March 14, another post described an incident at the Lito Pérez stadium involving falling debris during an interview. The tweet read: ” Lámina de zinc se desprende del Lito Pérez en media entrevista y casi le cae a periodista y alcalde (video) https://t.co/nH1Zpdi6EG” (posted on March 14, 2026).

RECOPE is the state-owned company responsible for importing and distributing fuels in Costa Rica. Cartaginés is one of the oldest football clubs in Costa Rica’s top division. The Lito Pérez stadium is located in Puntarenas and has previously faced infrastructure concerns.
