Man killed in shooting inside vehicle in Finca San Juan de Pavas

A man was killed on March 30 after being shot multiple times while sitting inside his vehicle in the Finca San Juan area of Pavas, San José. The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. near Súper Santa Marta, specifically by the alameda El Tapón.

Authorities said the identity of the victim has not yet been released. Video from the scene showed that the car’s windshield had several bullet holes, mainly on the driver’s side.

Emergency services responded quickly after receiving reports of a person wounded by gunfire. Paramedics from Cruz Roja Costarricense arrived with an advanced support unit but found that the man had no vital signs and declared him dead at the scene.

Police have cordoned off the area to secure both the body and vehicle while awaiting investigators from Organismo de Investigación Judicial (OIJ). The incident has led to heavy traffic and attracted many onlookers, complicating movement along nearby roads.
